This program offers monthly financial assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring they meet certain income and resource thresholds. Washington provides an extra state supplement, and clients automatically qualify for Medicaid and food assistance.
Application Process: Individuals can either call to set up an appointment at a local office or apply through the internet. When applying for SSI, applicants will have the option to request food benefits and can select between the Basic Food Benefits plan or the WASHCAP (Washington State Combined Application Program) benefits.
Costs: There are no fees involved.

- SSI benefits are available to low-income individuals aged 65 and older, or those younger than 65 who are blind or disabled. WASHCAP is designed for SSI recipients who are at least 18, do not earn income, and either live alone or purchase and prepare food separately from others in their household.
