Intake Process: Fill out a retirement application either online or at a local office. You can also request a replacement Social Security card through the same channels. To utilize the online services, users need to set up an account on the Social Security website.

- Individuals aged 62 and older who have sufficient work history to qualify for benefits. They can choose to retire at 62 for a reduced benefit or wait until 65 for full benefits. Certain family members may also qualify for monthly benefits from a deceased worker, including: a widow or widower aged 60 or older (50 or older if disabled), a widow or widower of any age caring for the deceased’s child under 16 or disabled, an unmarried child under 18 or developmentally disabled, and parents aged 62 or older who relied on the deceased for at least half of their support.
