This program provides monthly payments to individuals who have a work history or who cannot work due to a disability. Payments may commence after the sixth full month of the disability. Additionally, those receiving SSDI might qualify for Medicare benefits.
Application Process: Individuals can schedule an appointment at a local Social Security office or submit an application online. The Social Security Administration may expedite applications for individuals with certain rare diseases or cancer.
Costs: There are no fees associated with this program.
