Authorized to issue pet licenses in King County for pet owners. Discounts are available for seniors and individuals with disabilities, while service animal licenses are provided at no cost.
Application Process: Complete the application online or go to a licensing office, including city offices. For further details, call or check the website for licensing locations. During summer and fall, King County canvassers also offer pet licenses door-to-door.
Fees: Annual license fees are $60 for unaltered dogs/cats, $30 for altered dogs/cats, $15 for seniors/disabled, and free for service animals.

- There are no restrictions for obtaining pet licenses. King County mandates pet licenses for all dogs and cats aged 8 weeks and older in most areas. To qualify for the senior/disabled discount, the pet owner must be 65 or older or have a documented disability, and the pet must be altered. For service animals, the owner needs a documented disability and a statement confirming the animal's status as a service animal, and the pet must also be altered. A service animal is defined as any animal trained or in training to assist a person with disabilities and registered with a recognized service animal organization.
