Fees: Payments for infractions can be made using cash, check, credit card, or money order. Fines must be settled within 30 days of issuance to prevent a hearing. Not responding to the court within the 30-day period or failing to attend the scheduled hearing may lead to further penalties. Generally, misdemeanors can result in a maximum of 90 days in jail and fines up to $1,000. Gross misdemeanors can lead to up to a year of incarceration, with fines not exceeding $5,000. Additionally, a fee of $125 may apply for public defender representation.
