Application Process: Individuals can fill out a retirement application either online or at a local office. They can also request a replacement Social Security card through the same channels. To utilize online services, users must register for an account on the Social Security website.

- Individuals aged 62 and older who have sufficient work history to qualify for benefits. They can choose to retire at 62 for a reduced benefit or wait until 65 for the full amount. Family members may also qualify for benefits from a deceased worker, including: a widow or widower aged 60 or older (50 or older if disabled), a widow or widower of any age caring for the deceased’s child under 16 or disabled, an unmarried child under 18 or disabled, and parents aged 62 or older who relied on the deceased for at least half of their support.
