Intake Procedure: Visit the website to locate a local office. For a new driver license or ID card, applicants must provide proof of identity, including their name, date of birth, signature, and photo. (A detailed list of acceptable proof is available on the website.) Applicants are required to pass a vision test and present their Social Security number. New licenses also necessitate passing written and driving tests, although these tests can be waived if the applicant holds a valid driver license from another state. For DOL2Go services, consult the online calendar for the closest location.
Fees: Fees differ based on the service provided. The cost is determined by the type of license and its validity period. For specific fees, visit https://dol.wa.gov/driver-licenses-and-permits/driver-licensing-fees. Clients of DSHS can obtain or renew an ID card for $5 if they have the DSHS form 16-029 completed by a DSHS caseworker.
