This initiative supports individuals receiving DSHS public assistance in acquiring a Washington State ID card at a lower cost from the Department of Licensing. DSHS case workers will complete a form for clients to present at DOL to obtain the card for just $5.
Intake Procedure: Contact or go to any Community Service Office.

- Individuals receiving public assistance from DSHS, including both financial and food assistance, are eligible. Those under 25 without a permanent address can confirm their eligibility directly at the driver licensing office without needing a DSHS letter.
