This program provides monthly financial assistance to both adults and children with disabilities whose income and resources fall below designated financial thresholds. Washington State supplements this aid, and participants automatically qualify for Medicaid and food assistance.
Intake Process: Individuals can either call to set up an appointment at a local office or submit an application online. When applying for SSI, individuals will be prompted to indicate if they wish to apply for food benefits, with options including the Basic Food Benefits plan or the WASHCAP (Washington State Combined Application Program).
Cost: There are no fees associated with this program.

- Eligible low-income individuals, aged 65 and older, or those under 65 who are blind or disabled, can receive SSI benefits. WASHCAP is available for SSI recipients who are at least 18 years old, do not earn income, and either live alone or prepare food separately from others in their household.
