About this resource
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) aims to promote the well-being of income-qualified pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children under the age of five. The program offers an eWIC debit card for purchasing healthy foods, personalized nutrition advice, referrals to community services, and breastfeeding support, which includes access to breast pumps, lactation experts, peer counselors, and support groups.
To apply, individuals should visit this link to book an appointment at their local clinic: coloradowic.gov/find-wic-clinic. Alternatively, they can complete an online referral form at healthinformatics.dphe.state.co.us/WICSignUp. A WIC representative will reach out within 10 days to determine eligibility and assist in scheduling an appointment.
Who can use this
- To qualify, individuals must reside in Colorado and be either currently pregnant, breastfeeding a child under 12 months old, or meet other specified criteria.
Documents you may need
- Must provide: Identification for all family members applying for WIC Proof of address Proof of participation in Medicaid, SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR (Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations), or proof of income (e.g. paystub, tax return, letter from employer) Baby's growth measurements (height and weight) within the last 60 days and hemoglobin levels
