Ada County Public Defender

The Ada County Public Defender's mission is to provide competent representation for low-income individuals involved in serious criminal, mental health, juvenile, and abuse/neglect matters in Ada County. Their Court-mandated services are available to those unable to afford private legal counsel. Responsibilities of the Public Defender include presenting preliminary motions in court, conducting investigations, interviewing clients and witnesses, preparing cases for trial, negotiating plea deals, and representing clients in jury and judge trials, as well as handling post-trial motions. They may also represent clients in appeals and post-conviction matters.
