This program provides legal aid and information on civil court matters statewide, addressing consumer and health-related topics such as navigating Medicaid and Medicare, handling garnishments, medical bills, tax issues, SNAP/food assistance, and support for individuals mistreated by businesses. It also covers family and safety concerns, including civil protection orders, property and debt division, custody issues, common law marriage, support for human trafficking survivors, attorney referrals, and legal clinics.
Intake Process: Visit the website to fill out an application for assistance or locate the nearest office. For further inquiries, a phone call is encouraged.
Travel/Location: Cases will not be accepted from clients with certain issues, including misdemeanor traffic violations or a criminal record. Assistance is available for individuals with proof of legal status, regardless of their circumstances.
