This program provides legal support and information regarding civil court matters statewide, covering areas such as consumer and health issues, including guidance on Medicaid, Medicare, and other benefits, garnishments, medical bills, tax issues, SNAP/food assistance, and support for those facing mistreatment by businesses or other entities. It also addresses family, children, and safety concerns, such as civil protection orders, property and debt division, custody issues, common law marriage, human trafficking survivor support, and attorney referrals. To apply for assistance, individuals should visit the website to fill out an application or locate the nearest office. For additional information, a phone call is encouraged. Please note that cases will not be accepted if the client has a misdemeanor traffic violation, a criminal record, or if the case is fee-generated. Assistance is available to individuals with proof of legal status, regardless of their circumstances.
