Hamilton Telecommunications provides a Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) that facilitates communication for individuals with hearing loss or speech disabilities over the phone with standard users. Those with these challenges can utilize the Internet, a Text Telephone (TTY), or other assistive devices to connect to a relay center. A Communication Assistant receives the call and then initiates a call to the desired phone number. This assistant confidentially translates and relays the conversation by converting spoken words into typed messages and vocalizing typed responses for hearing individuals. Available languages include English and Spanish.
