MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS PHONE # 208-415-5180 SWINE FLU HOTLINE # 208-415-5299 DISTRICT OFFICE: The seven health districts in Idaho operate in close partnership with the Department of Health and Welfare, alongside various state and local agencies. Each district features a health board appointed by county commissioners and functions independently of state agencies. They address local requirements by providing diverse services that can differ from one district to another. Services include community health nursing, home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, many of which are delivered through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information about available services in your area, reach out to the nearest District Health Department. The Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, other public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to develop a unified statewide strategy for preparing for and addressing bioterrorism threats and other public health crises. These vaccinations are offered at low or no cost for parents who cannot afford them. Overseas immunizations are available by appointment.
