Acerca de este recurso

The Medical Reserve Corps can be reached at 208-799-3100, and the Public Health Information Line for Region 2 is available at 208-748-0400 or 1-866-736-6632. Idaho has seven health districts that collaborate closely with the Department of Health and Welfare along with various state and local organizations. Each district operates independently and has a health board appointed by county commissioners. They cater to local requirements by offering a diverse range of services, which may differ from one district to another. These services include community and home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, many of which are provided through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information on services in your area, it is advisable to contact the nearest District Health Department. Additionally, the Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office works with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and other entities to develop a comprehensive statewide strategy for addressing bioterrorism threats and public health emergencies. Environmental Health programs focus on the intersection of human health with the physical environment, covering areas such as day care health inspections, epidemiology, food establishment permits, indoor air quality, lead health, and solid waste management. Family Planning services include education, counseling, pregnancy testing, and various birth control methods. Immunizations for children are available at local health departments, often at low or no cost, with adult vaccines also provided. The Immunization Registry is a free service that tracks vaccination history. The WIC program offers nutritional support to women, infants, and children, including healthy food vouchers, health screenings, and nutrition education. The Women's Health Check program provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings for eligible women. For more information, call to inquire about services, locations, and appointments.
