El-Ada - Homedale

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families offers a variety of assistance aimed at ensuring housing stability for eligible very low-income Veteran families. Through the SSVF Program, El-Ada provides outreach and case management to help participants secure VA benefits and other public assistance. Limited temporary financial aid is available for enrolled Veteran families engaged in case management, which may cover: partial or full month rent assistance, one-time rent or utility deposit help, rental application fee support, and bus passes for housing searches. The VA's Grant and Per Diem Bridge Housing (VAGPD BH) Program funds organizations like El-Ada to assist Veterans facing homelessness. This program has effectively established services for homeless veterans and has expanded significantly since its inception. Community-based providers funded through the VAGPD BH Program are present in most states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, helping to house homeless veterans and deliver services in collaboration with the VA. The program's designs vary widely, from a 100-bed independent living facility to a 6-bed recuperative care housing project. The bridge housing component aims to foster supportive housing and services to help homeless Veterans attain residential stability, enhance their skills or income, and achieve greater self-determination. Furthermore, the VAGPD BH Program provides Case Management to assist Veterans who were previously homeless in maintaining their housing as they transition to permanent living. To qualify for bridge housing, Veterans must be enrolled in a permanent housing program such as SSVF, VASH, or Section 8. Languages available include English.
