Acerca de este recurso

The Medical Reserve Corps can be reached at 208-239-5208, and the Swine Flu Hotline for Region 6 is available at 208-234-5888. Idaho consists of seven health districts that work closely with the Department of Health and Welfare, along with other local and state organizations. Each district operates independently and has a board of health appointed by county commissioners. They address local requirements by offering diverse services that can differ from one district to another, including community and home health nursing, environmental health, dental hygiene, and nutrition programs, many of which are delivered through contracts with the Department of Health and Welfare. For the most current information about available services in your area, reach out to your local District Health Department. The Public Health Preparedness and Communication Systems office collaborates with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, public health districts, healthcare providers, and emergency responders to create a unified plan for responding to bioterrorism and other public health crises. Environmental Health programs tackle issues related to human health, the physical environment, and ecosystems, covering areas such as daycare, epidemiology, food establishments, indoor air quality, lead health, methamphetamine labs, public pools, and solid waste management. Land Development programs include regulations for critical materials, mortgage surveys, non-domestic wastewater, public water systems, aquifer protection, shallow injection well inventories, subdivision reviews, and subsurface sewage evaluations. Family Planning services offer education, counseling, pregnancy testing, comprehensive physical exams (including cancer and STD screenings), and referrals, with various birth control methods available. Immunizations are provided through local health departments, offering routine childhood vaccinations at clinics, often at low or no cost for families in need. Adult vaccines, including Td boosters and influenza vaccines, may also be available. The Immunization Registry is a free service that helps track vaccination history. The WIC program supports Women, Infants, and Children by providing healthy foods, health screenings, nutrition classes, and referrals to healthcare providers. The Women’s Health Check program offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings for eligible women without insurance coverage for these services.
