Dementia Friendly Washoe County

A monthly gathering designed for individuals living with dementia, their caregivers, and other community members, providing entertainment, refreshments, and opportunities for social interaction. Each two-hour event includes a one-hour musical performance by local artists who have undergone Dementia Friends training, equipping them with effective communication strategies for engaging with those living with dementia. After the performance, attendees can enjoy a social hour filled with snacks, informal activities, and conversation, along with access to information regarding community support services. Open Door Cafés take place on the second Tuesday of each month, are entirely free for community members, and are open to the public. Languages offered: English.
