This initiative provides support, referrals, and advocacy for children who may need health or related services that exceed the usual requirements for their age. It includes case management to help families connect with suitable community services. Offered services encompass: assistance in obtaining health insurance for the child; guidance on potential eligibility for Medicaid through new state programs, or in some instances, SSI benefits; support in acquiring medical services or equipment for home use; advocacy with other service providers to ensure the child receives quality care; and the establishment of a support network.
