The OVS Social Work program collaborates closely with the SNUG initiative to fill the service gap for community members affected by crime or violence, linking them to the state Office of Victim Services (OVS). This creative partnership between DCJS and OVS aims to foster healing and resilience among individuals and families, particularly those from marginalized communities, by empowering them to confront their trauma and enhancing their access to victim services. The program provides assistance in completing and submitting OVS applications, offers case management, and delivers trauma-informed therapy, focusing on victims of shootings and the families of those who have lost their lives to gun violence.
