The Housing Choice Voucher Rental Assistance Program is operated in Suffolk County by the New York State Homes and Community Renewal along with other public housing agencies. It oversees the allocation of yearly rent subsidies for residents of Suffolk County, helping qualifying families secure housing in the private rental market. Currently, the waitlist is not accepting new applications. Additionally, the program manages the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) initiative and the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) program in both Suffolk and Nassau Counties.
