• The program is aimed at older adults and individuals with disabilities, with eligibility determined by both care requirements and financial status. Generally, applicants must have a monthly income below $7,304, and their countable resources (excluding their home, transportation vehicle, or certain funds) must not exceed: $2,000 for an individual, $57,547 for a couple, or $123,600 for a couple when one is in a hospital or skilled nursing facility. Individuals exceeding the resource limit may still qualify if they anticipate meeting the limit within a month of applying. Additionally, clients must demonstrate an unmet need for help with two or more daily living activities, or have a cognitive impairment requiring assistance with at least one daily living activity.
