About this resource

This program assesses eligibility for state assistance that aids older adults and individuals with disabilities in affording both attendant care and other supportive services to maintain their independence.

Application Process: You can request an application form by phone, visit a local Home & Community Services office, or apply online at www.washingtonconnection.org.

Fees: Clients may need to pay a participation fee for services. However, those enrolled in WA Apple Health (Medicaid) may access services without any participation fee.

Who can use this

The program is aimed at older adults and individuals with disabilities, with eligibility determined by both care requirements and financial status. Generally, applicants must have a monthly income below $7,304, and their countable resources (excluding their home, transportation vehicle, or certain funds) must not exceed: $2,000 for an individual, $57,547 for a couple, or $123,600 for a couple when one is in a hospital or skilled nursing facility. Individuals exceeding the resource limit may still qualify if they anticipate meeting the limit within a month of applying. Additionally, clients must demonstrate an unmet need for help with two or more daily living activities, or have a cognitive impairment requiring assistance with at least one daily living activity.
