Licensed to issue pet licenses in King County, pet owners can obtain these licenses with available discounts for seniors and those with disabilities. Service animal licenses come at no cost.
Application Process: You can complete the application online or go to a licensing office, including city offices. For further details, you can make a phone call or check the website for all licensing locations. Additionally, during the summer and fall seasons, King County canvassers offer pet licenses for sale door-to-door.
Fees: The annual licensing fees (only checks are accepted) are as follows: Unaltered dog/cat: $60, Altered dog/cat: $30, Senior/disabled: $15, Service animal: Free.

- There are no restrictions for obtaining pet licenses, which are mandatory for all dogs and cats aged 8 weeks or older in most parts of King County. To qualify for the senior/disabled discount, the pet owner must be at least 65 years old or have a verified disability, and the pet must be altered. For service animals, the owner must provide documentation of their disability and a statement confirming the animal's status as a service animal, with the pet also being altered. A service animal is defined as any animal trained or in training to assist individuals who are blind, hearing impaired, or otherwise disabled, and must be registered with a recognized service animal organization.
