Contract And Administrative Law

The Contracts and Administrative Law Division supports internal contract operations for all state government agencies. It oversees external legal contracts necessary for the Bureau of Risk Management, the State Insurance Fund, the Bureau of Child Support, and the Industrial Special Indemnity Fund. The division's deputies provide daily administrative guidance and help client agencies with rule-making, legislative drafting, addressing open meeting law inquiries, and responding to public records requests. This includes assistance to the Board of Education, the Commission on Aging, the Commission for Libraries, the Department of Administration, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Health and Welfare, the Department of Labor/Human Rights Commission, the Division of Building Safety, the Division of Veterans Services, the Endowment Fund Investment Board, the Industrial Commission, the Lottery, the Military Division, the Public Employee Retirement System (PERSI), the Personnel Commission, the Public Utilities Commission, the State Historical Society, the State Liquor Dispensary, and several smaller agencies, boards, and commissions.
