Idaho Health And Social Services Ombudsman

The HSSO is committed to making sure that resources and services are delivered effectively and appropriately to children in Idaho who are in foster care, under protective supervision, or in residential treatment facilities. This includes: •Addressing and managing complaints regarding services for these children; •Informing families and service recipients about their rights as outlined by state and federal laws; •Gathering and analyzing data on trends, issues, and challenges in health and social services to suggest improvements to Idaho's child welfare laws; •Providing annual reports to the Governor, Legislature, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Judiciary, and other state entities about the office's activities and the functioning of the child welfare system in Idaho; •Raising public awareness about the office's role.
