Parkinson Disease Information, Referral Center, And Support Group

This initiative provides education, information, support, and referrals for individuals with Parkinson's disease, their families, caregivers, and professionals. Various support groups are available across Idaho, with the Boise group meeting on the fourth Wednesday of each month, the Meridian group on the second Saturday, and the Caldwell group on the second Monday. They offer valuable information at no cost and can connect individuals with specialized healthcare professionals treating Parkinson's disease. The Parkinson's Disease Information and Referral Center at Saint Alphonsus was founded by the American Parkinson's Disease Association (APDA), a national non-profit organization aimed at raising awareness about Parkinson's disease and related conditions through educational and supportive services for residents in Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Available services include counseling and education, a quarterly newsletter, community resource and physician referrals, a library, support group coordination, and in-service training for healthcare providers, along with educational materials.
