The Boise National Forest, covering 2,612,000 acres, is situated to the north and east of Boise, Idaho. Its topography features elevations ranging from 2,600 to 9,800 feet, shaped by geological processes such as uplifting, faulting, and stream erosion. A significant portion of this area is part of the Idaho Batholith, known for its susceptibility to erosion.
