Bannock Youth Foundation

Bannock House operates as a Licensed Qualified Residential Treatment Program (Q.R.T.P.) that offers a safe and organized environment for youth who are not living with their families for various reasons. Our mission is to support both the youth and their families, or caregivers, in building resources that facilitate reunification. We cater to youth facing challenges such as trauma, substance abuse, behavioral issues, learning disabilities, mental health concerns, and other personal or familial difficulties. This facility has fourteen beds and provides care for both males and females. We offer shelter and treatment for youth entering through our Crisis Program, Children’s Mental Health Contract, or Child and Family Services Residential Contract. Bannock House is authorized to deliver residential treatment to individuals aged 12-18. Our services include group therapy, individual and family counseling, life skills training, emergency shelter, residential care, educational support, and community counseling. The Bannock Youth Foundation employs full-time counselors and interns from Idaho State University to provide individual and family counseling at no cost to the community. The Family Resource Center serves as the main office for Bannock Youth Foundation, where we offer a range of family services to support parents in nurturing their children. Our aim is to enhance family strength and promote children's well-being through parent education and support. Services include the Nurturing Parenting Program, parent education and support groups for families with children up to age 12, and a Kindergarten Readiness Group to prepare children for school. Additionally, we have the BabySteps program, where families can earn points through health-related activities to redeem for baby care items. This program is available to any family expecting a child or with a child under 18 months. The Parents as Teachers program is a free, voluntary home visiting initiative for families with children aged 0-5, aiming to enhance parenting skills and strengthen parent-child relationships through monthly visits from trained educators who provide guidance on healthy parenting practices and child development, along with developmental screenings and resource support.
