Fraud Investigations - Region 6

The Welfare Fraud Investigation Unit investigates all clients and non-Medicaid service providers who obtain public assistance funds. These investigations often start from complaints made by the public or program employees and can result in identifying overpayments, intentional violations of the program, or legal action. To report suspected fraud, you can choose from several options: Online by visiting the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's website and going to the "Report Fraud" section; by phone at the Public Assistance Fraud Hotline at 866-935-7515, where calls are answered by the 2-1-1 Idaho CareLine from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Mountain Time), with after-hours calls going to voicemail; or via email at Questions@dhw.idaho.gov.
