National Federation Of The Blind Of Idaho

The NFB is dedicated to ensuring opportunity, security, and equality for all individuals who are blind. Its mission serves two main purposes: to empower blind people to build self-confidence and self-respect, and to provide a platform for collective expression among the blind community. The organization works to educate the public about the capabilities of blind individuals, emphasizing that they can compete equally with those who are sighted. The NFB offers a variety of services for blind and visually impaired individuals of all ages, including public education initiatives, information and referral services, scholarships, literature on blindness, adaptive equipment, and advocacy for civil rights. Additionally, the NFB has established programs such as Job Opportunities for the Blind and Newsline for the Blind, which provides access to news via telephone.
