Local health departments provide routine childhood vaccinations through clinics at health departments or special off-site events, often at low or no cost for those unable to pay. Overseas immunizations are available by appointment, and travelers should contact the local health department to determine necessary vaccines for their destinations. Adult vaccines, including Td boosters, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, pneumonia, and influenza, may also be offered. The Immunization Registry is a free, voluntary, and confidential service that helps track immunizations for individuals and their families. The WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) Program provides healthy foods monthly through WIC vouchers, health screenings, nutrition classes, community program information, registered dietitian counseling, breastfeeding support, and educational materials.
