Girls On The Run Of The Wood River Valley
Community Resource
About this resource
Girls on the Run is a preventive initiative for girls in grades 3 through 5, promoting the development of self-esteem and healthy lifestyles. Our goal is to educate and equip girls for a lifetime of self-worth and wellness. As a non-profit, we strive to assist girls in avoiding the "Girl Box," where they are often judged by their looks rather than their inner qualities. The program runs for ten weeks each Spring and Fall, with after-school sessions held at locations in Ketchum at Atkinsons' Park and Hailey at the Community Campus. The curriculum integrates training for a 3.1-mile event with lessons aimed at fostering physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social growth. The program's aim is to minimize at-risk behaviors among participants by empowering girls with the skills to make healthy choices and build positive self-images. Languages offered: English.
Intake Procedure: Registration can be completed online, and registration forms are distributed to all 3rd-5th grade girls in the Wood River Valley.
