The Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane is committed to delivering high-quality health care services to veterans. The facility prioritizes both primary and secondary care, particularly in preventive health and chronic disease management. It features 36 hospital beds and 34 nursing home beds designed for rehabilitation. Additionally, a mobile clinic equipped with two exam rooms extends primary care services to veterans residing in remote areas outside of Spokane. The Spokane VA plays a crucial role in facilitating access to a comprehensive health care benefits package for enrolled veterans, coordinating referrals to the VA Puget Sound Health Care System and VAMC Portland for specialized care, while also leveraging community health resources. There are collaborative agreements with the 92nd Medical Group at Fairchild Air Force Base, Indian Health Services for Native Americans, and the Idaho and Washington State Departments of Veterans Affairs for the care of residents in state homes located in Lewiston, ID, and Spokane. Furthermore, the medical center provides administrative support to the Veterans Outreach Center in Spokane. In 2013, the facility was renamed the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center to honor two Medal of Honor recipients, Private First Class Joe E. Mann, who lost his life in combat during World War II, and Platoon Sergeant Bruce A. Grandstaff, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Vietnam War. Annually, the Mann-Grandstaff VAMC and its associated clinics serve over 30,000 veterans across Central and Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Northwestern Montana.
