The Seasonal Head Start program is available from May to November, coinciding with the harvesting season, and runs for twelve hours each day, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It offers complimentary transportation for children, along with two meals and two snacks daily, as well as free preventative health, dental, developmental, and speech screenings. The program focuses on education in the children's primary language, primarily serving children of Hispanic descent. Head Start is a nationwide initiative designed for children from income-eligible families and is managed by local nonprofit organizations across the country. Applications are accepted for children aged 0-5, including those with special needs or at high risk, with a limited number of spots for over-income children with special needs. Services are provided at no cost, requiring verification of income, the child's birthdate, and immunization records.
