Parents As Teachers - Eastern Idaho Public Health

A parent serves as a child's primary educator. This FREE initiative aims to equip parents with essential information to enhance their children's intellectual, language, social, and physical growth from prenatal stages up to 5 years old. Funded by the Maternal Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program, it assists pregnant women and families, particularly those at risk, from birth until kindergarten. Families can access various resources and develop the necessary skills to nurture children who are healthy and prepared for learning. Parents as Teachers is a complimentary and voluntary service available to residents of Bonneville, Jefferson, Madison, Fremont, Teton, Custer, Clark, or Lemhi County who are expecting or have a child aged 0 to 5. Participants will engage in enjoyable educational activities, receive community resource referrals, and benefit from free health screenings for children, including vision, hearing, and developmental assessments.
