Vocational Rehabilitation - Idaho Falls

The Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation operates as a State of Idaho agency under the Idaho State Board of Education, focusing primarily on facilitating employment for individuals with disabilities. It offers personalized vocational guidance and counseling, along with various services to help clients make informed career choices leading to successful employment. The Division oversees two key programs: the Renal Disease Program and the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. For those with renal (kidney) disease, it provides a state-supported medical assistance program that manages the medical and financial aspects for clients with end-stage renal disease, considering their ability to pay when determining eligibility. Additionally, kidney patients who are employable are served through the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. The Division collaborates with the Department of Health and Welfare's Mental Health Program to support individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, utilizing a team approach to help them secure community employment through Assertive Community Action (ACT) teams established statewide. VR also aids students with disabilities in their transition from school to work, maintaining partnerships with schools to assist those in need, allowing any student to apply directly with a school referral. Furthermore, VR is dedicated to supporting migrant seasonal farm workers with disabilities who can no longer pursue their usual work or need help to maintain their migrant employment. The Division has developed a proactive program to assist inmates with disabilities in reintegrating into the community, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance their chances of successful employment. Any individual with a disability that hinders their ability to work is eligible to apply. Languages offered include English.
