The Cooperative Extension System at the University of Idaho plays a vital role in supporting the agricultural, rural, and urban communities throughout Idaho by offering a range of services, programs, and research critical to the state's growth. Among the various offerings are: 4-H (Youth Education Program), Weed Control Programs, Garden and Landscape Management Programs, limited Family Resource Management, Crops and Horticulture Programs, Money Management and Household Budgeting, Pesticide Applicator Training, limited Food Preservation, Farm Business Management Programs, Intensive Management of Irrigated Pasture, and the Extended Nutrition Program (ENP). The program also emphasizes community development through the Horizons initiative and operates primarily in English.
