Essential Ferret Services

Essential Ferret Services is a Federal non-profit, no-kill shelter established in 2001 and based in Caldwell, Idaho. We rescue ferrets from various locations across Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho, including cities like Boise, Nampa, Eagle, Meridian, Emmett, McCall, and Homedale. Upon arrival, each ferret undergoes a minimum one-week quarantine where they are tested for ADV and monitored for any contagious illnesses. Our goal is to ensure they are in the best possible health before we seek new homes for them. It is uncommon for us to receive ferrets that are up-to-date on vaccinations or have a veterinary history. Each ferret is assessed for malnutrition and other health issues, and we conduct temperament testing to better understand their personalities, helping us match them with the right families.
