Jail - Canyon County

Inmate Control represents the most extensive division in the Sheriff's Office, staffed by more than 70 Deputies, nine Corporals, and six Sergeants. This unit also encompasses Inmate Classifications, which assigns suitable housing for inmates based on interviews and record evaluations. Together, these divisions ensure a secure environment for both the inmate population and the deputies at the Canyon County Detention Center. The unit is overseen by Lt. Andrew Kiehl, who holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Boise State University, possesses an Idaho POST Supervisor Certificate, and is an alumnus of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command College.
