About this resource

The initiative focuses on helping individuals with disabilities reach their desired level of independence by facilitating transitions from institutional settings and preventing future institutionalization. It offers a range of support services and advocacy for those wishing to live autonomously within the community, including peer support, information and referral services, benefits counseling, personal assistance, and training in independent living skills. Additionally, assistance is provided for applying for SSI, SSD, and PASS (Plan for Achieving Self-Support), along with A.D.A. site evaluations, training to prevent discrimination, and education on the philosophy of Independent Living and disability issues. Services are available in English.

Intake can be done via telephone, walk-in, or by scheduling an appointment.
