The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), previously known as Food Stamps, assists low-income families in acquiring the food necessary for maintaining good health. Through SNAP, eligible families receive an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, which functions like a debit card at grocery stores. This card draws funds from a designated SNAP account for the family to purchase approved food items. Benefits are restricted to eligible food purchases only. Available languages include English and Spanish.
