Assistance is available for individuals and families facing homelessness or at risk of it, provided they meet two criteria: 1) They lack suitable housing options and would be living in an emergency shelter or vehicle without assistance, and 2) They do not possess the financial means or support networks necessary to secure immediate housing or maintain their current residence. Eligible individuals and families must reside in Ada County, qualify as homeless or at risk of homelessness, meet specific risk factors set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and adhere to the following income limits for households: 1 Person $21,900, 2 Persons $25,000, 3 Persons $28,150, 4 Persons $31,250, 5 Persons $33,750, 6 Persons $36,250, 7 Persons $38,750, 8 Persons $41,250. Note that this program does not cover mortgage payments or other costs associated with maintaining homeownership. For the application process, individuals must schedule an appointment via phone for an initial consultation and eligibility assessment, with the application process taking place in Payette. Required documents for the appointment (not an exhaustive list) include a copy of the eviction notice or court order, lease or occupancy agreement with landlord details, proof of income for all household members aged 18 and older, utility shut-off notice, and foreclosure notice on financial letterhead.
