It adopts a proactive stance against horse slaughter by offering help with essential horse ownership costs. Funds raised will cover basic expenses such as hay and feed, gelding costs, boarding, euthanasia, and necessary veterinary procedures. The organization aims to eliminate the necessity for horse auctions and slaughter. Donations are primarily directed to farmers, feed stores, or veterinary clinics rather than to the applicants themselves. Each year, thousands of horses are exported from the U.S. for slaughter in other countries, many of which are young and healthy.
