Area Agency On Aging - Burley

The initiative provides leadership and advocates for issues significant to older residents of Idaho. It oversees and manages both federally and state-funded programs aimed at helping seniors maintain their independence, safety, and dignity, while also offering volunteer opportunities for older individuals. **Programs and Services include:** Adult Protection, which investigates claims of abuse, neglect, and exploitation; Legal assistance through Idaho Legal Aid; Family Caregiver Support Program that offers help, information, and respite services; In-Home Services including case management and home-delivered meals; Medicare Education to assist with understanding Medicare and resolving billing issues; Nutrition Services providing a directory of Senior Centers, home-delivered meals, and educational resources; Ombudsmen who advocate for the elderly in care facilities; Support Services that include information, outreach, and transportation; and additional programs such as support groups and educational opportunities. The Idaho Commission on Aging also oversees the Area Agency on Aging offices. A specific focus is placed on LIVING with Dementia, where Dementia Skills training equips caregivers with essential knowledge and tools to enhance the quality of life for those living with dementia.
