The Children and Family Services Program evaluates reports concerning child abuse, neglect, or abandonment. When required, it offers suitable services to meet family needs. This program assesses and determines the validity of reported child abuse incidents, which may involve evaluating family members and/or the child in question. It facilitates access to counseling for victims, parents, abusers, and others involved. Child protective services are provided at no cost. Additionally, the program oversees the licensing of foster homes and offers certain adoption services, managed by the Division of Family and Community Services. Services are available in English, with interpreters accessible as needed.
