The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), previously referred to as Food Stamps, supports low-income households in acquiring the food essential for their health. Eligible participants receive an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, functioning similarly to a debit card, which allows them to purchase food at grocery stores using funds from a designated SNAP account. The benefits are restricted to qualifying food items. Language support is available through interpreters.
