Idaho Correctional Institution-Orofino (Icio)

The Idaho Correctional Institution located in Orofino was once a state school and mental health facility before being converted into a prison. In 1988, an additional wing was constructed. The facility is capable of housing a maximum of 541 male offenders, primarily focusing on those with medium custody levels, while also accommodating individuals requiring protective custody. Givens Hall, situated next to the main compound, functions as a work camp. ICIO provides various vocational work programs, educational opportunities, and other rehabilitation initiatives.
