IMMUNIZATIONS: Local health departments administer routine childhood vaccinations at health department clinics or occasionally at special off-site events. These vaccinations are typically low-cost or free for parents who cannot afford them. Overseas immunizations can be scheduled by appointment. Adult vaccines, such as Td boosters, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, pneumonia, and influenza vaccines, may also be available. The Immunization Registry is a free, confidential service that helps you, your family, and your doctor keep track of immunizations and ensures you receive only necessary vaccines when needed. WIC (WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN) PROGRAM: WIC provides supplemental nutrition assistance for Women, Infants, and Children, offering: Monthly healthy food options purchasable with WIC vouchers, health screenings, nutrition education classes, information on community programs, referrals to healthcare providers, individual counseling from registered dietitians, breastfeeding support, recipes, newsletters, and educational materials.
